Summer is almost here, and the calendar is filling up. Whether you have been coming to Westler Lake for thirty years or this is your first season on the water, here is everything worth planning around. Mark the dates, tell the neighbors, and clear the weekends.

Spring Association Meeting

This is where the season officially starts. The annual spring meeting brings together association members for lake updates, a look at the 2026 event calendar, and open discussion on anything that matters to the community. If you have been meaning to get more involved or just want to hear what is on the horizon, this is the morning to show up. Coffee helps. Good neighbors help more.

July 4th Fireworks

There is no better seat in LaGrange County than right here on the water. The whole lake comes alive on the Fourth. Bring the family, claim your spot before dark, and settle in for one of those summer nights that everyone talks about for the rest of the year. The fireworks rotate among the Indian Lakes Chain, and this year the show is on Dallas Lake.

Westler Lake Poker Run (19th Annual)

The biggest day on the lake. Boats make the full circuit, stopping at each of five stations to draw a card. Best poker hand at the end wins, but by mid-afternoon nobody is keeping very careful score. There is food, cold drinks, decorated boats, and enough lakeside conversation to last until next July. This year marks the 19th Annual Poker Run, nearly two decades of the same ridiculous, wonderful tradition. Tickets are on sale now.

Party on the Point

One of the most beloved traditions on the lake. Neighbors gather at the point for an evening of food, drinks, and the kind of easy, unhurried company that only happens when everyone leaves their phones inside. Come for the sunset, stay for the rest. If you have never been, this is the one that will make you feel like you have lived here your whole life.

Muckfest 2026

Knee-deep in lake muck and loving every second of it. Muckfest is the kind of event that is impossible to explain without sounding unhinged, and impossible to skip once you have been. Kids, adults, anyone who still has some summer mischief in them. Nobody goes home clean. That is the whole point. This year, the Hubie Ashcraft Band will be playing from 2:00 to 5:00 PM, so there will be live music to go with the mud.
