Muckfest 2025: Our Favorite Summer Tradition Lives On

What started as a jam session on a sea-legged pontoon has grown into Westler Lake’s most anticipated summer event — Muckfest.
Back in the early 2010s, it was just Hubie Ashcraft and Travis floating on a toon owned by Gay Cunningham, filling the cove with music and good vibes. Fast forward to 2018, and Hubie called with a request: take the reins and bring the full band experience to the lake. With help from some incredible long-time sponsors, we made it happen — and each year since, the magic continues to build.
We owe a huge thank you to our founding sponsors: Shawn Severe, Danny Orlando, and Anthony Rose — and those who joined in to keep the tradition going strong: Thomas Miller, Tracy Hawk, Shawn Mantel, Chad Arnold, and Mark Eggering. Their generosity fuels everything from the band to the stage, and now the commemorative shirts that let you show your lake pride (and recognize the sponsors behind it all).

Meet the Crew Behind the Chaos

It takes a lot of hands to keep Muckfest afloat—literally. John Vander Roest and “2 Guys and a Toon” provide critical transport for the band to and from the floating stage. On that stage? Landon Grogg has been there from the start, with Chuck Glover and Tom Miller helping keep things smooth. Over the years, Brad Grim, Mike Hogel, and even Sheriff Wes have stepped in to keep the platform solid and the party rocking.
The Band Boat Crew — including Greg Mohr and Russ Jordan — have become a reliable team in recent years, getting the band in and out without delay. Their behind-the-scenes hustle ensures the show always goes on.
Last year, we bought a used stage of our own (no more last-minute scrambles), and plans are already in motion to upgrade it soon.
A Quick Note on Boat Etiquette
We know everyone wants a front-row seat for the music, but please be mindful when you see areas marked for “No Parking.” The band needs a clear path in and out — before, during, and after the show — so let’s all show some lake neighbor love.
Whether you’ve been coming for years or this is your first Muckfest, we can't wait to see you in the water on August 2.
Stay safe, be kind, and rock on.
